Frosina Filiposka

Frosina was born in Macedonia and immigrated to Canada at the age of 10. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) with a Software Engineering Specialization at the University of Windsor.
“To receive the Bitove Scholarship would be to see my journey as an immigrant, a daughter, and a proud Macedonian recognized and uplifted. It would honor the sacrifices my family made, the culture I fight to preserve, and the bridge I continue to build between the two worlds. This scholarship would not only support my education – it would affirm that holding onto your roots while reaching for your future is something worth celebrating.”
Ana Giceva

Ana grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science as a biology specialist at the University of Toronto, Mississauga.
“I am honored to receive the John L. N. Bitove Macedonian Heritage scholarship. I owe every present and future success to the generations of Macedonians who made sacrifices to give me access to a high standard of education and a country with limitless opportunities. This scholarship will push me in my journey to medicine, where I will integrate my Macedonian heritage to better serve members of my community. I hope to learn even more about my beautiful birth country and culture, and I am deeply grateful to Nova Generation for uplifting and inspiring Macedonian students to do so.”
Sophia Gorgiev

Sophia grew up in Toronto, Ontario. She is currently studying at University College Dublin in Medicine. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Obstetrics (MB BCh BAO) – Direct Entry Program (6-Year).
“To be awarded the Bitove Scholarship would be an incredible honour, not just in recognition of my academic and voluntary endeavours, but also in celebration of the values instilled in me by my family and culture. As a third-year medical student grounded in service through mission trips, community involvement, and deep cultural roots, this support would not only ease the path ahead but also affirm that preserving your heritage while giving back to others is a strength, not a sacrifice.”
Lilah Winkler

Lilah is from Thornhill, Ontario. She will be going to Humber Polytechnic to pursue a Bachelor of Film and Media Production.
“Receiving the Nova Generation Bitove Scholarship would not only be a great honor, but also affirm the strength and value of my Macedonian heritage. It would allow me to fully concentrate on my dream of becoming a filmmaker while reminding me that staying connected to my roots is a vital part of who I am. Pursuing my academic ambitions with the financial and spiritual support of the Macedonian community through Nova Generation would be a true privilege, and one I would cherish over the course of my studies and beyond.”
Nadica Jordanoska

Nadica was born in Ohrid, Macedonia and moved to Canada at the age of 4. She will be going to the University of Toronto, Mississauga campus where she will be studying computer science, mathematics and statistics.

It would not only support my academic journey, but also empower me to represent my Macedonian heritage in the growing field of technology and contribute positively to both my cultural community and the wider society.”
Nikola Petkovski

Nikola is from Toronto, Ontario. He is currently studying engineering at Western University.

Victoria Tosevski

Victoria is from Toronto, Ontario. She is currently studying pharmacy at the University of Waterloo.

Sigrid Madzunkova

Sigrid is from Los Angeles, California. She is currently studying physics at the University of California, Berkeley.
“Receiving this scholarship is a cultural and academic recognition that I am profoundly grateful for. I am proud to be recognized alongside other students of Macedonian heritage, and this award will support my pursuit for a career in physics. I look forward to seeing the educational, societal, and technological impact that the “Nova Generation” will bring across the world.”
Nicholas Neshovski

Nicholas is from New Rochelle, New York. He is currently pursuing a degree in Business and Global Affairs, Bachelor of Science at Georgetown University.
“Receiving this scholarship would mean everything to me as it would allow me to focus fully on my studies without the financial stress that comes with college. It represents not just financial support, but a connection to my Macedonian heritage that I’m incredibly proud of. This opportunity would help me pursue my education with the knowledge that I’m being supported by my community, and it would bring me one step closer to my lifelong goal of giving back to all those in Macedonia who have shaped who I am today.”
Anastasija Mladenovska

Anastasija is from Kumanovo, Macedonia. She is currently studying political science, accounting, and Russian at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
“Receiving the Nova Generation Bitove Scholarship would mean more than financial support—it would be a recognition that my efforts to preserve, honor, and reinterpret my Macedonian identity in diaspora matter. It would reaffirm that the work of bridging past and present, homeland and diaspora, memory and imagination is seen, supported, and shared by a larger community that believes in the future of our culture, language, and people. This scholarship would empower me to continue my studies with purpose and pride, knowing that I carry not only my own dreams, but the hopes of generations before me.”
Lukas Bozinov

Lukas is from London, Ontario. He is attending Western University where he is working towards a Bachelor of science with a specialization in computer science with a specialization in computer science.
“Receiving the Nova Generation Bitove Scholarship would be more than financial aid; it would be a patriotic endorsement of my commitment to Macedonia’s growth and glory. It would empower me to pursue my studies without restraint, fuel my drive to excel for the pride of our nation, and remind me that my efforts to strengthen our communities and honour our heritage are seen and valued. This scholarship would light the path forward, not just for me but for every corner of our homeland. I hope to uplift with the spirit of Macedonian unity and progress.”
Eva Stojanovska

Eva came to Canada when she was 6 years old. She currently lives in Vaughn, Ontario. Eva will be studying Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto.
“Receiving the Bitove Scholarship would be a meaningful tribute to my Macedonian roots. It would be an honour that reflects the strength, work ethic, and integrity passed down to me, and it would show that my community believes in me as I move forward. It would remind me that where I come from matters and that the values my family brought from Macedonia continue to shape who I am today.”
Sophia Bushnell

Sophia is from Lemont, Illinois. She is studying biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
“Receiving the Nova Generation Bitove Scholarship would not only ease the financial burden of my education, but it would also affirm that the stories, sacrifices, and traditions of my Macedonian heritage matter—that Ljubojno’s legacy lives on in me, and that I am part of a new generation committed to honoring the past while building the future.”
Oliver Garrett

Oliver currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He will be studying Economics at Duquesne University.
“As a member of the Gen M youth leadership committee, an opportunity to receive a scholarship from the United Macedonian Diaspora would mean a great deal: it would help me to achieve my academic goals and continue to be an advocate for Macedonians across the globe.”
